Tenure-track Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor in Global Health (several posts),
Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Global Health (several posts), School of Public Health (Ref: 536310), to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term contract, with possibility of renewal, and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance. Exceptionally outstanding candidates may be considered for appointment on tenure terms.
Applicant Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree or equivalent in public health and epidemiology, economics, political science, geography, medical anthropology, medical sociology, international health law, or a related discipline.
- Prior research experience in development studies, health systems research, global public health, primary health care, or implementation science.
- Strong track record of high-quality research as indicated by publication record and external grants.
- Evidence of international recognition with a demonstrated ability to work across disciplines toward new research initiatives.
- Strong commitment to teaching students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative scholarly research, publish research articles in high-impact journals, and attract competitive grants to maintain active research programmes.
- Take part in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and supervise research postgraduate students.
- Perform administrative duties.
- Lead and document field interventions and interact with global health partners ranging from multinational leaders to grassroots community members.
Benefits and Compensation
An attractive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
