Vice President - Credit Approver/Risk (Foreign Bank)

The Company

The Role

• Review and approve credit proposals within delegated authority, ensuring alignment with the Bank's credit policies, procedures, and risk appetite.
• Evaluate financial statements, industry developments, and transaction structures to identify key credit risks and provide recommendations to business units and credit approvers.
• Conduct credit due diligence through client visits, joint meetings, and discussions with relationship managers and business stakeholders.
• Monitor and manage the credit portfolio of assigned business units, ensuring asset quality and risk control.
• Perform ongoing surveillance of approved credit facilities and assess borrowers' creditworthiness and financial performance.
• Conduct periodic and annual credit reviews in accordance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
• Provide coaching and technical guidance to junior Credit Officers, Relationship Managers (RMs), and Assistant Relationship Managers (ARMs) to strengthen credit assessment capabilities.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of credit policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal compliance requirements.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent certifications are highly preferred.
• Holder of ECF-CRM certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in credit approval, credit risk management, or related functions within corporate and commercial banking.
• Strong expertise in credit analysis, financial statement assessment, risk evaluation, and portfolio management.
• Experience in assessing complex financing structures, including structured finance, acquisition finance, and leveraged finance transactions, is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills with sound credit judgment.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage internal and external parties.
• Self-motivated, independent, and capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Willingness to travel for client visits, credit due diligence, joint calls, and business support activities as required.
