As part of its ongoing growth and transformation journey, the group is seeking a seasoned legal professional to lead its legal, compliance, and corporate governance agenda, serving as a trusted advisor to the Chairman and senior leadership team.
About The Role
Reporting directly to the Chairman, the Head of Legal & Compliance will be responsible for overseeing all legal, compliance, corporate governance, and company secretarial matters across the group.
This is a broad and highly visible role that combines strategic advisory responsibilities with hands-on legal support, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders on business initiatives, investments, commercial transactions, and corporate governance matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as the principal legal advisor to the Chairman, Board, and senior management team.
- Lead and manage all legal, compliance, regulatory, and corporate governance matters across the organization.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and business contracts.
- Support strategic business initiatives, investments, joint ventures, corporate transactions, and other growth-related projects.
- Oversee company secretarial matters, Board administration, statutory filings, and corporate governance requirements.
- Develop and enhance compliance frameworks, policies, and internal controls to support the group's evolving business needs.
- Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks while delivering practical, commercially focused advice.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other professional advisors.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with a recognized law degree and admission in a common law jurisdiction.
- Approximately 15 years of relevant legal experience, including substantial in-house experience.
- Strong expertise in corporate and commercial legal matters, governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Hands‑on experience supporting Board activities, company secretarial matters, and corporate governance requirements.
- Exposure to investments, joint ventures, corporate transactions, or business development activities would be highly advantageous.
- Prior experience within hospitality, real estate, investment, family office, or diversified business environments is preferred but not essential.
- Proven ability to work closely with senior executives and provide commercially pragmatic legal advice.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Independent, hands‑on, and comfortable operating in a lean, fast‑paced, and entrepreneurial environment.
