C++ Trading Developer - Buy Side Firm - HKD$90k -110k + Bonus

Our client is a global buy-side firm based in Hong Kong, looking to expanding their trading technology team.

In this role, you will develop and enhance production systems that support trading workflows, with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability.

You will collaborate closely with trading and quant stakeholders, and work with engineers to deliver improvements that directly impact trading operations in a live environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C++17+ trading applications/services used in production.
• Work on core platform capabilities including:
• market data processing and event handling
• order lifecycle/state logic and workflow reliability
• execution-related components where correctness and latency matter
• integrations with internal trading infrastructure
• Optimize systems for low latency and high throughput while preserving stability.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, including structured root-cause analysis.
• Support engineering best practices: code reviews, testing where applicable, documentation, and clear communication.
• Contribute to technical improvements through refactoring, performance tuning, and system hardening.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in financial services industry especially on trading side.
• Bachelor’s Degree or above in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• C++17 or above (required)
• Strong production engineering experience (trading systems experience is a big plus)
• Solid knowledge of concurrency/multithreading, robust system design and debugging in complex environments.
• Experience with low latency, market access, order entry, or market execution.
• Experience working in Linux and debugging real-time systems
• Language requirement: Cantonese or Mandarin (fluent) and English (professional working proficiency at the minimum).
