Director, Private Equity (Healthcare) | Hong Kong or Shanghai

An established Asia-based private equity and asset management group is expanding the senior bench of its dedicated healthcare investment team. This is a rare opportunity to join a lean, high-calibre team investing across China's most exciting healthcare frontier, with a primary focus on new drugs, and to own deals end to end alongside the partner who leads the practice.

What you'll do

• Drive the full investment lifecycle across biotech, medical technology and AI healthcare: screening, sourcing, due diligence, negotiation and execution
• Lead investment memo preparation and present proposals to the investment committee
• Manage portfolio companies post-deal, supporting commercialisation, regulatory strategy and value creation
• Shape and execute exit strategies to optimise fund returns
• Stay close to the China healthcare market and translate sector intelligence into deals

What you'll bring

• 10+ years of healthcare-focused PE investment experience, with strong China exposure (new drugs especially), or comparable business development experience within biotech / medtech / AI healthcare
• A proven track record across the full deal cycle, from sourcing through to exit
• Excellent analytical, presentation and communication skills, fluent in both English and Chinese
• Bonus points for: a PhD in biotechnology, medical science or a related field, and some exposure to LP relationships (RMB or USD funds)

• Senior Director-level seat as a key individual contributor, reporting directly to the Partner
• Based in Hong Kong or Shanghai; relocation to HK considered for the right mainland-based candidate
