We are looking for a Business Operations professional to support the build-out and ongoing operation of RWA’s middle- and back-office capabilities.

The role will focus on establishing scalable operating processes, controls and infrastructure across RWA’s brokerage, OTC and other financial product businesses. As RWA develops tokenised financial products and other digital-asset-enabled business models, the role will also support the additional operational layer associated with tokenisation, including wallet, token settlement and on-chain operational processes.

This is not a pure BAU operations role. The successful candidate is expected to combine hands‑on execution with process design, system implementation and cross‑functional coordination, and gradually take broader ownership of the RWA Business Operations function as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

1. Trade & Order Operations

  • Own and manage the operational lifecycle from confirmed order through order placement or transmission, execution monitoring, booking, allocation, confirmation, settlement and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, brokers, issuers, counterparties, custodians and other service providers to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing.
  • Monitor trade status, settlement status and operational exceptions, and drive timely resolution of breaks or failed transactions.
  • Maintain appropriate operational controls around order processing and transaction execution.
  • The role does not include sales, investment recommendation, discretionary trading, proprietary trading or independent pricing decisions.

2. Middle & Back Office Operations

  • Establish and operate middle- and back-office processes across securities, funds, fixed income, structured products, ETPs, OTC products and other financial instruments.
  • Manage transaction settlement, cash and position movements, reconciliations, corporate actions and other post-trade activities.
  • Develop operational procedures covering subscription, redemption, transfer, settlement, asset servicing and lifecycle events.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and support internal reporting, management reporting and audit requirements.
  • Identify operational risks and establish appropriate maker‑checker controls, escalation procedures and exception‑handling processes.

3. Tokenisation & Digital Asset Operations

  • Support the operational implementation of tokenised financial products as an additional layer on top of the underlying financial products.
  • Coordinate token issuance, minting, burning, transfer, redemption and settlement processes where applicable.
  • Support wallet‑related operational processes, including wallet setup, transaction workflows and operational reconciliation.
  • Perform reconciliation between underlying financial product records, internal books and records, and token / on‑chain records where required.
  • Work with relevant product, technology, legal, compliance and digital asset teams to establish scalable tokenisation operating models.
  • Monitor developments in RWA, tokenised securities and institutional digital asset operations and apply relevant industry practices to RWA’s operating model.

4. Operational Infrastructure & Account Management

  • Support the setup and ongoing management of operational accounts and infrastructure, including broker, bank, custodian, wallet and relevant market infrastructure accounts.
  • Coordinate account opening, documentation, access control, operational setup and ongoing maintenance.
  • Establish clear operating procedures for cash, securities, digital assets and other asset movements.
  • Support the design of omnibus, principal or other account structures according to business requirements.
  • Maintain clear records of account purpose, ownership, authorised users and operational controls.

5. Process & Control Framework

  • Design and document end‑to‑end operating procedures, SOPs and control frameworks.
  • Establish appropriate approval, authorisation, maker‑checker and segregation‑of‑duties arrangements.
  • Develop operational checklists, exception management procedures and escalation mechanisms.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of operating processes and identify opportunities to reduce manual risk and improve scalability.
  • Support internal control, risk, compliance and audit reviews relating to operational processes.

6. Systems & Automation

  • Act as a key Business Operations interface with Technology and relevant system teams.
  • Translate operational requirements into clear business and system requirements.
  • Support the design and implementation of workflows covering order, trade, position, cash, asset, wallet and settlement data.
  • Lead or participate in UAT, operational testing and production‑readiness assessments.
  • Where systems are not yet fully developed, establish practical interim workflows and controls using spreadsheets or workflow tools.
  • Drive the gradual transition from manual processes toward more scalable and automated operating models.

7. New Business & Product Implementation

  • Support the operational implementation of new products, counterparties, distribution channels and business models.
  • Assess operational feasibility and identify required processes, accounts, systems, controls and dependencies before launch.
  • Coordinate operational readiness across Product, Sales & Trading, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance and external service providers.
  • Support UAT, dry runs, launch preparation and post‑launch stabilisation.

8. Function Build‑out

  • Support the build‑out and future scaling of the RWA Business Operations function.
  • Develop operating standards, documentation and institutional knowledge that can support future team expansion.
  • As the business grows, take increasing ownership of Business Operations activities and support the development and supervision of junior team members.
  • Contribute to the design of the future operating model, team structure and division of responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Approximately 4–8 years of relevant experience, with title and scope adjusted based on seniority.
  • Relevant experience in securities firms, investment banks, private banks, asset managers, financial institutions or institutional digital asset platforms.
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, post‑trade processing, settlement and reconciliation.
  • Experience in securities, funds, fixed income, structured products, OTC products or similar financial instruments is preferred.
  • Experience in a Hong Kong regulated financial institution is strongly preferred but not mandatory.

Digital Asset / RWA Experience

Candidates with relevant experience in institutional digital asset platforms or crypto exchanges are also encouraged to apply, particularly where their experience relates to:

  • RWA or tokenised financial product operations;
  • institutional trading or post‑trade operations;
  • token issuance and redemption;
  • custody or wallet operations;
  • on‑chain settlement;
  • reconciliation between off‑chain and on‑chain records.

Traditional financial markets experience is not necessarily required where the candidate demonstrates strong institutional‑grade operational experience and the ability to understand financial product structures.

Systems & Project Experience

Strong preference will be given to candidates who have experience in one or more of the following:

  • building a new operations function or workflow from scratch;
  • implementing OMS, PMS, settlement, custody or other financial systems;
  • business analysis or system requirement definition;
  • UAT and production implementation;
  • operational automation or process transformation.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong ownership and ability to independently drive operational matters to completion.
  • Comfortable working in a developing business environment where processes and systems may still be evolving.
  • Able to balance hands‑on execution with process design and control considerations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, particularly in identifying operational breaks and designing practical solutions.
  • Good understanding of operational risk and control principles.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across Product, Sales & Trading, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk and Finance.
  • High attention to detail while maintaining an end‑to‑end understanding of the operating model.
  • Strong written and spoken English and Mandarin; Cantonese is an advantage.

What We Are Looking For

This role is particularly suitable for someone who does not want to remain a narrowly focused settlement or processing specialist, but instead wants to build a broader Business Operations capability within a growing financial business.

The ideal candidate should be willing to work hands‑on in the early stage, while also having the capability and ambition to progressively build processes, systems, controls and team capabilities as the business grows.
