Senior Settlemenet Officer(Japan Market)

• Directly execute daily pre-matching, clearing, and settlement for global markets, with a heavy focus on Japanese equities , as well as US/HK stocks, Options, Derivatives, FX, and Virtual Assets.
• Hands-on handling of settlement lifecycles and proactive resolution of trade fails with custodians, prime brokers, and clearing houses (e.g., JSCC, CCASS, DTC).
• Run and optimize daily cash, position, and ledger reconciliations, utilizing modern data tools to investigate and resolve breaks efficiently.
• Directly manage the lifecycle of mandatory and voluntary corporate actions (e.g., dividends, stock splits, rights issues).
• Parse market announcements, ensure precise booking of entitlements, and manually execute election collections, keeping a keen eye on the unique timelines of the Japanese market.
• Provide tight operational support to the trading desk by capturing, validating, and processing trades and lifecycle events.
• Troubleshoot complex trade mismatches and execution discrepancies in real-time alongside traders and counterparties.
• Actively identify manual bottlenecks in daily workflows and leverage AI tools, LLM assistants, low-code/no-code platforms, or scripting to automate repetitive tasks and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain and refine operational control checklists to eliminate human error and minimize financial exposure.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Solid, hands-on experience in middle/back-office operations within a global brokerage, prop trading firm, or wealth tech platform.
• Comprehensive, practical knowledge of US/HK stocks, Options, Derivatives, FX, and Virtual Assets. Deep familiarity with the nuances of the Japanese equity market and its infrastructure is highly critical.
• A proven track record of personally executing Settlements, Corporate Actions, Risk reconciliations, and Trade Support.
• Experience or strong interest in leveraging modern AI productivity tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Dify, or python scripting) to automate data parsing, document processing, or daily ops workflows.
• Fluency in English. Proficiency in Japanese is a major advantage
