Executive Officer II in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences [Ref. R/233/26]
Duties
The Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences (SS) began to admit students under the Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission Scheme (SALSA) in the academic year 2022-2023. SS offers university education opportunities to elite athletes in Hong Kong to support their dual-career development in sports and academics. We are looking for a talented person to support and contribute to the administrative management of the team.
- Provide support to programme administration, including student admission, course registration, timetabling, and examination arrangements for the students under the SALSA scheme;
- Plan, coordinate, and organise local and non-local student development activities for the SALSA Students;
- Coordinate community servicing activities with different stakeholders;
- Prepare reports, activity proposals, etc.;
- Provide secretarial support to different working groups; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a major in Psychology/Social Work, or related disciplines. A Master’s degree will be an asset for consideration;
- Experience in providing academic advising or mentoring for students in the tertiary education sector;
- A strong growth mindset and commitment to student development;
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and people skills to work with internal and external stakeholders; and
- Good command of English and Chinese are required.
- A long-term interest in sports is a plus.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
