FX Trading Lead

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced FX Trading Lead to lead and grow our FX trading function supporting OSL's global payments and digital asset business.

This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day FX trading activities, overseeing market execution and liquidity, and developing trading strategies across key currency markets. You will be hands-on in trading while also leading a team of 5-7, driving performance, risk management, and continuous improvement of trading processes.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on FX trading experience, with 5+ years of experience in FX, ideally with exposure to Emerging Market FX (EMFX) and/or crypto markets. Experience within a payments, fintech, or digital asset environment would be highly valued. You should be commercially minded, comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, and able to balance trading performance with effective risk management.

Key Responsibilities

FX Trading & Market Execution

• Lead day-to-day FX trading activities across relevant G10 and Emerging Market currencies
• Execute and manage FX transactions, ensuring competitive pricing, efficient execution, and appropriate risk management
• Monitor market conditions, liquidity, spreads, and currency movements to identify trading opportunities
• Develop and implement trading strategies to improve execution quality, pricing, and overall trading performance
• Manage FX exposures and work closely with internal teams to maintain appropriate risk levels

Emerging Markets & Crypto

• Develop and manage trading strategies across Emerging Market FX, where relevant to the business
• Monitor macroeconomic, market, and geopolitical developments that may impact FX liquidity and pricing
• Leverage experience in crypto markets to support the growing intersection between digital assets, stablecoins, and FX
• Identify opportunities to improve liquidity and pricing across traditional FX and digital asset markets

Liquidity & Counterparty Management

• Work with liquidity providers, banks, brokers, and other market counterparties to optimise execution and pricing
• Evaluate liquidity sources and identify opportunities to improve spreads, depth, and execution quality
• Partner with Sales, Payments, Treasury, and Operations teams to understand flow requirements and optimise trading coverage
• Support the development of new currency corridors and trading capabilities

Team Leadership & Performance

• Lead and manage a team of approximately 5-7
• Set trading objectives, performance standards, and risk parameters for the team
• Coach and develop traders while maintaining a hands-on role in day-to-day trading activities
• Monitor trading performance, P&L, execution quality, and risk metrics
• Drive continuous improvement across trading strategies, processes, and tools

Risk & Operational Management

• Ensure trading activities operate within approved risk limits and internal controls
• Identify and manage market, liquidity, and counterparty risks
• Work closely with Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure trading activities meet regulatory and operational requirements
• Improve trading processes, systems, and controls as the business scales

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on FX trading experience , with experience managing meaningful FX flow or positions
• Strong understanding of FX markets, execution, liquidity, pricing, and market risk
• Experience in Emerging Market FX (EMFX) is strongly preferred
• Experience in crypto, digital assets, or stablecoins is highly valued, ideally combined with traditional FX experience
• Experience working in a payments, fintech, or other high-volume transaction environment is a plus
• Previous experience managing or mentoring a trading team; experience leading a team of 5-7 people is preferred
• Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to make fast and sound trading decisions
• Strong understanding of liquidity providers, brokers, banks, and FX market infrastructure
• Mandarin proficiency is preferred, given the regional scope of the role
• Comfortable working within GMT+8 and collaborating with teams across Asia and global markets
• Hands-on, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with evolving processes and priorities
