Job Description - Senior Clinical Psychologist (HKCH2609002)

HK$161 ,107 to HK$185 ,614 (HGPS Point 45 to 49) per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. 1. Lead, develop and manage the psychological service.
2. 2. Supervise and give guidance to Clinical Psychologists.
3. 3. Plan for the professional development and continuous training of Clinical Psychologists.
4. 4. Formulate and implement policies and standards on psychological service.
5. 5. Provide specialist advice on psychological matters.
6. 6. Perform clinical duties.
7. 7. Lead research in areas relevant to clinical work.

Entry Requirements

1. 1. A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from a local university; or equivalent.
2. 2. 5 years’ experience as a Clinical Psychologist.
3. 3. (a) Grade E in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent ; OR
4. (b) Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education, or equivalent.
5. 4 . Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken English and Cantonese.

Preferred Attributes/Exposure

1. 1. Work experience in the specialties of psychological assessments and/or related services in child development.
2. 2. A post-basic academic/professional qualification or clinical training.
3. 4. Contribution to professional development including research, teaching and training.
4. 5. Possess the following preferred attributes:
   • (i) Wechsler Preschool & Primary Scale of Intelligence (Fourth Edition)
   • (ii) Wechsler Intelligence Scale of Children-Fourth Edition (Hong Kong)
   • (i) Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System Third Edition (Hong Kong)
   • (c) Learning –
   • (i) The Hong Kong Test of Specific Learning Difficulties in Reading and Writing for Primary School & Junior Secondary Students
   • (ii) The Hong Kong Dyslexia Early Screening Scale
5. 3. Applicants are required to submit an Action Plan of not more than 1,500 words on the following topic on or before the application deadline. Please specify word count at the end of the action plan and those content beyond the word limit will not be considered.
   “Development plan for CP in Child Assessment Service, and its integration into HKCH to provide territory wide Developmental-Behavioural Paediatrics service in the next 5 years.”
