Head of Banking Compliance - Pure Hong Kong

Our client is an international financial services group, currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Head of Compliance to join the bank. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills to contribute to the success and growth of the bank.

1. Lead compliance governance: Serve as Compliance Manager/Officers (including HKBO s72B, SFO compliance manager roles, and charter integrity roles) to ensure compliance risks and oversight meet HKMA/SFC and other regulator standards.
2. Build and maintain compliance framework: Establish, review, and update compliance policies/procedures; design regular compliance checks, testing/monitoring, and ongoing remediation programs.
3. Regulatory liaison and reporting: Act as primary contact for regulators/law enforcement and external advisors; ensure timely regulatory filings, queries responses, and prompt escalation of breaches with recommended corrective actions.
4. Advisory, training, and governance support: Advise the Board/management/staff on compliance matters; conduct regular staff training; prepare materials for Risk Management Committee, Audit Committee, and Board-level meetings.
5. AML/CTF and cross-functional coordination: Supervise control of AML & regulatory policies with the MLRO, coordinate with other departments to address compliance issues effectively, and maintain necessary regulatory registrations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A relevant professional certification (e.g., CIA, CISA, CPA) is highly preferred.
2. Extensive experience 12+ years in compliance, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
3. Strong knowledge of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
