Position Overview
Tenure-Track Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534526)
Candidate is appointed for an initial four‑year fixed‑term period, with possibility of renewal in a second four‑year term, and consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second contract.
Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care aims to produce doctors who practise medicine of the highest standard, in the best interests of their patients and the community, and to inspire them to achieve academic excellence. The mission of the department is to promote quality primary care through education, patient‑centred service and research in family medicine.
Responsibilities
Appointee is expected to:
- Participate in conducting research;
- Plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Family Medicine;
- Develop and provide clinical services in primary care;
- Contribute to administrative duties in the Department and the Faculty.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a medical degree registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and the qualification of F.H.K.A.M. (Family Medicine) or a PhD in general practice/family medicine. They should have proven capacity and potential in research, demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in clinical services and training, and have experience in undergraduate teaching. Fluency in Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua) and/or English is required, as teaching, research and professional activities are conducted in English.
Remuneration and Benefits
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract‑end gratuity and a University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totaling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance and housing benefits will be offered as applicable.
